CATATAN PERJALANAN: Biochemistry of Mangunan

I've always love to go seeking new places just to feel a different atmosphere.
Fresh air, breathtaking view.
It's totally worth the journey.

You see, I am easily bored by a constant routines. (I can't believe I say that again, I feel like it's my 100 times saying that I get bored easily, ok get the point!) And there are many many ways to get distracted though. Lets say go find a hobby, go get some fresh air, go get someone to talk to. And I choose the second option for my recent escape route with no reason. Well maybe next time I'll go find a new hobby, but hey, writing a blog should categorised as one, don't you think? Well yeah, maybe next time. #WhyAmIThisLazy

Since I lived at Yogyakarta, there are many many great places offering beautiful view here. Kulonprogo, Gunungkidul, Bantul, etc. These are the region with a great opportunity becoming the face of Yogyakarta for tourist destination (no, I am not majoring tourism for college, lol). Too bad the road to most of the place are rough and steep.

Nevertheless, personally I love challenge and I believe the best part of a destination is the journey. So I somehow enjoy the ride to these place.

I went to Mangunan, Bantul the other day. Bukit Panguk Kediwung and Hutan Pinus Imogiri to be exact. It was after biochemistry class on Friday and we decided to 'look for' some fresh air. We search for the place on Instagram and we Google Map-ed it so we know the road going there. And by 'we' I mean Tamara, Ummul, and I, the explorer (?) of the day. So, it took approximately an hour from Universitas Gadjah Mada to there by motorcycle. I don't know if the road can be passed by car or not because it was very rough and steep, oh and narrow also.

First destination was Bukit Panguk Kediwung and we welcomed by the breathtaking view of the nature. Here's the picture if you might wonder how great it is (pardon my 'ngangkang' pose wkwk):

Typical #sotd

After we took tons of photos there and enjoying the sound of the nature (damn this feels deep), we move over to the second destination, it is the well-known Hutan Pinus Imogiri, which is not far from our former destination.

Since the recent tourist destination trend at Yogyakarta is the phenomenal and famous Hutan Pinus Imogiri, it deserves to be called as '#1 Yogyakarta 2016 Destination' because it was more than just fine. It was captivating and beautiful. People usually rent a hammock and hook it between two trees and just enjoying the view. Because of low-budget, we decided to choose food instead of renting hammock :)))

The fun fact is, we only sleep for two hours that day doing 'laprak'. Confused why are we choose to strolling around instead of sleep? Truth to be told: 1. We are getting used to few hours of sleep, and 2. We need vacation, man!

So long to my next exploring posts!

KONSERVATIF 2016 #teduhdantulus

So, on Sunday October 23th, I decided to take a break from the super hectic routine of mine. That day I was supposed to finish my physiology report and also I have physiology exam the next day. But knowing that Payung Teduh and Tulus will be performing here at Jogja made me think twice (lol). Both together performing in a night was everything I could ask for. Both songs' are incredibly beautiful and tranquillising to the mind and soul. Perfect for calming down this bored soul.

And the ticket is surprisingly affordable. I bought is only 80k rupiahs (or 85k rupiahs I forgot) for Festival. It might be a little expensive because I bought on the last batch of the ticket selling. The first batch would be just 65k rupiahs for sure. And it is waaaaay worth it to spend every rupiahs to see such concert.

So yea, that's it, I went to this concert, recklessly I might add, knowing all my friends would be studying at that time, but whatsoever, I got tired soul to be entertained (lol).

The concert was held at GOR UNY, not far from my place. I got there after I printed my physiology report's inset. The show started at around 7 p.m with the opening by Everyday, an indie band from Jogja. I don't know much about them, but they're good for sure. The vocalist's voice was angelic, it makes me wanna know more about the band.

 EVERYDAY on KONSERVATIF 2016

And after a few songs, the band called it off for performing that day and the staffs prepared for the next one to perform. While they're preparing, the MC throw up some games to the audience and it was so entertaining and funny.

A few moments later, the band I wanna saw the most starts to perform with the opening "Menuju Senja". I couldn't describe how thrilled I am to see them lively. After the song finished, they started to play a song which I really know from the intro. My fav song from them, Rahasia, started to play and I was so excited that I started to scream "aaaa" just like the others. Love the lyrics, love the music, love the feelings.

They keep up their performance by performing "Resah", "Berdua Saja", "Untuk Perempuan Yang Sedang Di Pelukan", "Kucari Kamu", "Akad" (from their new album), "Tidurlah"and closed with "Angin Pujaan Hujan". It was so great got me wonderstruck. I look forward to their next performance here at Jogja so I can see them again (if the ticket is affordable tho).

Cool lighting tho, but too dazzling I can say

Andddd at last, it is the time for the main artist of the show to perform, Tulus! He showed up singing the song "Gajah" and people screaming out loud. So climax. At the end of the song, he greet us warmly and tell how he's thrilled to be back to perform at Jogja although he's wary about how he will gain weight because of the Jogja's foodies (such as Gudeg, if you're not from Jogja, you have to try this one tho). I love when he perform my fav song from him, "Ruang Sendiri" and it has the MV playing from the monitor behind him. Loving the romantic feeling listening to the song. But I feel more heart-warming when he sang "Langit Abu-abu". Thattt feel </3

 TULUS on KONSERVATIF 2016

So the show was over by him performing "Pamit". Right on lyrics (and feels). I feel so happy after going to the show. Feeling no regret. Feeling so happy. I bet every concert has it's own charm to makes us want to go to the next concert because it happens to me. I feel like I want to go to any other concert afterwards (although I'm not the crowdy-loving type, I'm the sit down type tho). Guess I'll be going to many concerts and events soon. I'll make posts about it and au revoir for now!

ART | JOG | 9

(ART | JOG | 9, June 2nd 2016)

I think we all have favorite place(s) to go to when we're either bored or lonely (lol i hope no). Well, to me, favorite places are those places where I can have some time doing (or seeing) what I love and just me and my thoughts (deep bruh). And by that I think we all have something in common about our favorite one(s); it's somewhere where you get freedom. Freedom to be you. Freedom to think you want to think. Yea, I think that's what favorite place(s) all about.
Well mine happen to be in your arms bookstore, bakery, and museum/art exhibition. In this post, I would like to share some (not some, it's just two actually) art exhibition I've gone since I moved to the city, Yogyakarta. I'll make a separate post of why am I moving to this city and anything 'bout it, especially my activities. Too much tasks and tests prevailing my mind so I have to keep focus on college thingy (cry).

I always have a thing for museum and any art exhibition. I sometimes imagine to visit all museums and art exhibition in the world (i really did imagine this kind of stuffs, lol). And I bet thats impossible since it will cost A LOT and I don't know many of the artists exhibiting there.
I love art. I love paintings. I love how it can speaks without saying a word (personification detected).
I love silence, but since not all museum/art exhibition are quiet, I'd rather go with the word 'peaceful' than silence. And museum & art exhibition is pretty much a right combination of all I asked.

 Mandiri ART | JOG | 9

ART JOG is an art exhibition which has already exhibited nine times annually since 2008. Each year they have different themes and for ART JOG 9 they came up with the Universal Influence theme. The theme means: "The universal culture came from the accumulation of historical events," said Heri Pemad, Artjog Director. There are 97 works exhibited there, such as paintings, photographs, sculpture, etc. I enjoy being there. These works are all creative and great. I can't wait for the upcoming ART JOG (which is next year ugh).

THE BEAUTY OF RELATIVITY by GALAM ZULKIFLI
Beauty is the most high-selling commodity for the media industry. The media provides a single definition of beauty as well as deciding what is proper for a woman. Beauty is not singular, it is relative.

Affandi Alive!
(Taken: August 18th, 2016)

Affandi Alive is an art exhibiton at Lippo Plaza Jogja which I visited when I'm wandering alone on August 18th, 2016. I was going to buy a new charger because the old one was broken and then I saw the exhibition. It was super quiet there maybe it's because there's Affandi Museum here in Jogja and people prefer going there to see all the Affandi's work. Here's the photos I took by my phone camera (because I was just got home from college, no preparation wkwk)

Serumpun Bambu, 1965.

My Wife and Me, 1950.

So that's all I can share. There so so so many museum or art exhibition out there but I only had visited these two, I hope I can have the opportunity some time to exploring the whole art things without having to worry about grades (lol). See ya on next 'exploration' post(s)!
